Mental space theory

 Mental Space Theory

This theory is founded by Talmy in 2000.

Mental space theory is a theory in the field
of linguistics and cognitive psychology.

It suggests that mental space is organized by mental operations and mental operations are organized by mental models.

Mental operations are the mental processes that people perform when they think, reason, and communicate.

A mental model is the representation of the
the way something works.

Mental models are used to understand,
predict, and explain the behavior of people
and things.

Models are also used to make decisions,
reason, and communicate.

Mental models are mental representations
of the world that people use to make
decisions, reasons, and communication.
